Our Research and Development Unit has evolved towards segmentation by areas, such as chemical synthesis, proteomics and molecular biology. The main activities of these areas are the use of revolutionary techniques, such as "in situ" hybridisation and chromatography techniques, as the basis of their programmes, which they carry out with the support of different universities such as Universidad de Alcalá in Madrid, Universitat Autónoma in Barcelona, Universidad de Málaga and Louisiana State University in New Orleans (USA); as well as other institutions such as the FEHV (Foundation for the Study of Viral Hepatitis) in Madrid.

The action programmes are based on the research of proteins, peptides and the isolation of the most clinically relevant allergens of different allergenic sources such as fungus, mites and pollens, which are found in different preclinical and clinical phases. The aim is not only to incorporate them into the diagnosis, but also to assess their therapeutic effectiveness in different clinical trials that involve different methods of administration in immunotherapy with allergens.

Other programmes incorporate the synthesis, silting and blocking of allergenic determinants of β-lactam antibiotics, which can improve the knowledge and diagnosis of sensitivity to this type of medicine.
