STANDARDIZATION

The allergenic extracts are standardized according to the “Nordic guidelines”.

Final product units are established on the basis of the knowledge of individual studies for each allergen.
  

MEASUREMENT UNITS

Three quantification levels are defined:

EXTRACT MASS
LYOPHILIZED ALLERGEN (mg/mL)

Allergens whose biological activity and major allergen content are unknown
  
  BIOLOGICAL UNITS (BU/mL)
  
Allergens whose activiy has been studied according to the "Nordic Guidelines". The HEP value and its transcription to biological units are available (1 HEP = 10.000 BU/mL).
  
  MAJOR ALLERGEN(S) µg/mL
  
Allergens in which the suitable degree of concentration of major allergen(s), in terms of immunotherapy effectiveness and safety, has been described.
